Career Development
‘Partnering the profession’ – that’s what we do – being there with you, our Members – providing membership benefits.
The Career Development Programme had been set up to examine Membership Benefits as a whole.
The Programme proposes new ways to support you and this entailed a complete career development package that starts when a member joins and continues through with the member until retirement.
Since the beginning of the project a number of new initiatives have been created and several are nearing completion. These following measures will enhance membership benefits:
- The introduction of HRINZ Coaching Directory, this membership service runs along side the very sucessful Mentorship Programme.
- The establishment of an online HRINZ Career Log (CLog) which was released on 24th October 2008. The HRINZ CareerLog (C-Log) is part of HRINZ Career Development Programme which will assist members to track, record and manage their ongoing professional development.
- The establishement of the Education Endorsement Programme where members will be able to find suitable academic and educational courses to develop and enhance their HR knowledge against the HRINZ competency framework.
- Check out the HRINZ HR Competencies for Professional Accreditation, which enables members to self assess themselves against the HRINZ benchmarks for applications for Professional Membership.
- Any one considering joining the profession, anyone in the profession and any member, can call the HRINZ National Office, Career Centre and get pointed in the right direction. This position is filled by the Manager - HR Careers & Education.
Or you can view the following information such as HR Job Families or HRINZ Remuneration Survey's or further information on getting a career started in HR, click here.
- Check out the HRINZ Knowledge Base which is a web-based library of resources that relates to Human Resource Management. The Knowledge Base is basically a ‘one stop shop’ for all your HR related enquiries with a wealth of information, articles, definitions, updates regarding legislative changes, links to relative agencies and other services that HRINZ offers such as Professional Development courses and HR guides etc.
- Given the mobility of members, we are working on strategic career partnerships with HR organisations in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
- Continuing to develop our links with tertiary education providers and so we attend careers fairs and orientation days and encourage student participation. We have produced a careers flyer ‘ Your career in HR starts HERE’ And launched an HR Educators Newsletter and an HR Students website.
- Finally, we established an electronic ‘Community of Interest’ so that members with common interests will be able to communicate electronically with each other on a discrete site within the HRINZ website.
